Cat Power

Saturday night I watched Cat Power on Austin City Limits. This was my first glimpse of this singer and her group, and I was blown away. (Believe me, it's very hard to impress me these days )

She reminds me of early Ricky Lee Jones - but much cuter.

Anyone else out there see this show?

I didn't see the show, but I recently discovered Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall - she doesn't have permanent group, I don't think). I've heard various live cuts on the internet and she sounds like a great performer (although she seems to suffer from anxiety attacks - or something - and her shows get derailed with alarming frequency). Her latest album is pretty damn good (The Greatest), and Moon Pix has some darn good stuff as well.

I do find that I prefer listening to her a song or two at a time - complete albums seem to wear on me for some reason I haven't figured out.

And yeah, she's pretty cute too.

I really like "The Greatest". Her earlier CD, "You Are Free", was a bit too mellow for my tastes. She is pretty. (Unfortunately, she is a smoker, which completely ruins anyone's attractiveness for me. )

question about a Cat Power song

i heard a cat power song once that was aprox. 15minutes or longer , very cool ........anyone know the name of it , what album etc???
