I am thinking of adding the Carver Cube M-400a to the front channels of a Yamaha rxv-1000. Will the Carver add or detract the Yamaha's presentation. The Carver amp is about 15 years old and has been sitting in a closet for about 5 years.

Have you tried it yet? What did you think?

Haha, it's in your closet - Are you looking for us to tell you how it sounds?

I owned an M-400A for a number of years and it is a good sounding amp with ample bass punch. It should add some firepower to the front channels but ultimately only 3-4db of output assuming your 1000 has about 100 watts for the front channels.

The downside is the imbalance in power between the front and centre channels.
