I'm ok first off. Got t-boned by a red light runner...

Looking used luxury (Genesis, Lexus, Infiniti). ~@25K.

20 years in auto sales (4 years out). Hands down I would recommend a used Lexus as that’s what I personally buy and drive. Funny thing about used luxury vehicles is the higher you go in the lineup the faster they depreciate which is great when buying used, not so much for the first owner.

Tell me a little about your needs and preferences in a vehicle and I can make recommendations from there.

Almost anything on a used Lexus can be worked on at a Toyota dealership. Not the case with Genesis or Infinity. I’m not personally a fan of CVT transmissions and that’s all that’s available on Infinity. The Genesis will develop rattles and squeaks as it ages much faster than the others. Sorry but it’s a pet peeve of mine for a luxury vehicles to sound like a rattle can every time you hit a bump.

As for vehicle selection of the three mentioned, I agree with Tank. With that being said, I'm a BMW fan, I buy and drive used CPO, currently driving a '23 X5 MSport. Couldn't be happier.......

My last 5 cars were all BMWs, I also think as far as SUVs go you would need to step up to at least an X5 if you are looking for a luxuy ride, as then tend to be on the sportier side. I lease, have owned 00 BMW 323i 09 335xi 18 X3M 21 X5M40, currently driving 24 M440i 4 Series Coupe. Currently in the process of trading in early for a 26 X5M if I can get the right deal.

CPO program is great with BMW as they pretty much cover everything except maintiance (which can be expensive). Though you do have options to upgrade your warranty.

If your looking for a softer ride, not my first choice.

Yikes, sorry about the car. Glad you are well. Moved on from European cars myself to a used Lexus. You cannot argue with their record as the most reliable line of cars made for many years.

Glad to hear you are OK.

Lexus / Toyota are no longer #1 in reliability. Subaru has displaced them. That said, our Lexus has been the most problem free car I have ever owned. It is now 15 years old and has held up extremely well; no rattles/squeaks, no worn out hardware and still super quiet.

Lightly used Acura may be another choice. I owned two of them new, virtually trouble free 12 years each. I found them ergonomically more comfortable than Lexus and the fit and finish bit more elegant. If you drive a lot then a hybrid may be worth the extra spend.

Highway cruiser, plush ride over 'dynamics', top shelf audio (of course), quite cabin, low fatigue. Low maintenance cost.

I keep seeing BMW pop up. Not interested in the ongoing expense they can develop. Merc and VW are not in consideration.

I'm very much over 'driver dynamics'. It's why Infiniti is lower on my list. I would consider a QX80 but they are a bit too large I think but I believe they are very bang for the buck used.

They buy used cars extremely low and then mark them up from what KBB/Edmunds says they're worth. So yes, never take asking.

Lexus LS460 or if looking for something newer the GS350. Parts for the LS460 are going to be more but they are built like tanks that ride incredibly well.

This seems to be a problem all over. It seems stopping for red lights and stop signs is now optional in the Twin Cities metro. The way people drive now is atrocious.

Yeah, society has devolved pretty substantially in its collective ability to operate a motor vehicle.
My wife and kids got hit a couple years ago in my brand new truck at the time by a red light runner with no insurance.
$17k worth of repairs.

When we moved here my kid commented about me giving the middle finger more in 3 months than 12 years prior city.

I was helping someone that was ran off the road while riding their bike. Pull over and off as much as I could, put the hazards on, clearly I'm helping someone, and I have people honking at me pissedoff.
