Having $4,000 to spend I would get a $2,000 car, put $1,000 worth of repairs into it and have $1,000 in case I drove it off a loading dock and needed $800 worth of tires in 3 days. That's just me and pretentious BMW's wouldn't even be a consideration. But then again, I just need to get there. I don't need to get there in style and I don't need a car with 150k miles and a $700 radiator waiting to blow type of thing. ;)

Sorry to talk to you like your dad but I love you like a son ... and put that out. :p :)

You're like an elephant. Seriously. :D

And it wasn't the radiators fault. It was the 2x4 chunk that flew up into it at 70 mph. :(

I was speaking hypothetically. Honest. :D

With that Focus I would throw a belt tensioner and an O2 sensor on it day 1.

Fuel filter is pretty crucial too. Most people skip that ... Adam. :D  :D

Ah! I was wondering why the BMW was included, makes sense now. I'll look through CL again for that clean late 90's 5-series I saw.

It ticks me off that SoCal guys have access to rust free jewels like these.
There are so many great rust free cars here its silly.I am having a heck of a time trying to decide what I want.So many people don't buy good BMW's used because they are worried about an expensive fix.I have a mechanic who is going with me to check the cars I pick out.He is 65 and bought cars for dealerships and serviced them for 35 years so I trust him and he is a good guy.I have always had Honda's and Acura's but am willing to try German engineering for a change. There are some REALLY nice BMW's out here as well as many many other kinds of cars,it sucks to make a desicion. Its like the resturant that has too big a menu.I will be here all week looking darn it.....

 I didn't realize at first that there was a link to photos. Oops.

Yeah, the stereo looks nice. I'm not a fan of the exterior, though.
If it was Black I would like it though.....It would cost me about $475 for a hi-gloss paint job on that sucker. It also has a newly rebuilt engine with paperwork..........
