I always install a decent system in all of my vehicles , usually just a 6 channel amplifier {I like the JL 600/6, its like 75 watts per channel and powers your dash speakers, rears, and doors, plus has high level inputs so no converter needed}, then I buy the stock sized component sets either infinity Kappa or Mb Quart who ever offers the correct sizes.. I don't add sub woofers or change the factory head units. Just a clean install that you would never even know it was not stock, my cousin used to own a car audio alarm company and charges me $20 an hour to install what ever I buy, he does a SUPER clean job, and I never have to worry about rattles or pinching wires after the install {like you would have from best buy}, when he did my BMW he took the entire interior out, seats, carpet, pillars, half of the dash board, door panels, ect.. Then ran all the wires in black tech flex, zip tied and fastened, then installed all the speakers and amps, then put it all back together in 9 hours, that system sounded great. My jeep took him 3 hours, pulled the entire interior out of that too, but that looked much easier...
But you can get a really nice system for under $1500 and do away with the stock trash they give you, my 2013 wrangler came with an alpine subwoofer and alpine comonents {rubicon comes with the upgraded stereo} and I was hesitant to change it, but it just didnt sound that good... He installed the jl amp, mb quarts, and a jl subwoofer in the same spot as the stock alpine one and now it sounds 500% better, I think the entire start to finish cost me $1800 with the labor and all the parts...
