I am looking for any info or experience with this canton sub on Accessories4less. Specs look solid seems like a pretty good deal for the $500 with free shipping.

This will be used for multipurpose with TV, Music and Movies. I was hoping to stay close to the $500 range as this is kind of like my 3rd system in the house and it will not get tons of use.

I like the passive radiator design for my it. Kind of a midpoint between port and sealed.

As much as I like some of these Canton speakers I can't speak intelligently about the performance levels of their subwoofers. But for the many many years I've been floating around these forums I've never really heard a lot of positive feedback in fact I don't think I've heard any positive feedback of guy saying you got to get one of these Canton subs. But they do say you got to get an SVS or you got to get an HSU. So I would if I was spending 500 bucks go with the sure thing instead of guessing with a Canton sub just my opinion

For 2 bills more I’d get this:

   Amazon has the (2) PB1000 like new for 400ish. Dang I wish I had the money! I’d grab this fast!
SVS PB-1000 Subwoofer (Black Ash) – 10-inch Driver, 300-Watts RMS, Ported Cabinet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K88UMPW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KIiHFbG5WHVN0

Yes. I have looked at SVS and have always been curious about them. I am not sure my wife is gonna go for a large ported, box. I did consider that she may allow the cylinder option.

Although that little 10” ported for low $400 range is tempting.

It’s a great deal I’d run! Warranty is still intact too. SVS takes care of their customers. I had one and it rocked my medium size apt.

I got a quick listen to this sub Monday!
I only listened to music and it sounded great in that context. It certainly displayed some solid low end capability, but it would be hard to tell just how low without measurement (or at least finding those select HT scenes Like Live, Die, Repeat, or Pulse that will kick a poor sub's ass).
But from my perspective, it did not do anything wrong at all and if it is the right size/look for your space, at $500 I don't think you'd spend much time second guessing your decision.
Is a Speedwoofer at $400 equal or better? I have not heard the Speedwoofer, but I am pretty much convinced that it takes measurements to separate a pair like these two (based on what I have read about the Speedwoofer).
The Canton does have an adjustment in a switch for "Narrow", "Medium", or "Wide" room in an attempt to tailor the bass and off-set room gain.

My 2 humble cents based on design/spec alone. I never heard this sub:
a) it's 12" sub in a small box with a firing down passive radiator with 200w nominal amp - it may be accurate enough not to be a boom box, but HSU's VTF-2 MK5 will walk all over Canton 12.3.
The same applies to the extra $100 SVS Outlet PB2000 linked above.
Short version - I'd pass on Canton sub.
If the box size is that critical, checkout SVS SB2000 Pro, even at its full price of $799 it is still a great value.

Thanks guys for the response. I actually just purchased a pair of b stock Vtf2-4s for a great deal. $868 for the pair with shipping.

That is a great deal! I think that is a safer bet if you don't mind the size!
I especially like Hsu because they have plenty of ways to tune the sound!
I dislike them because they do not include shipping in the cost - that is not really a bad thing except it is inconsistent with so many other sources that include shipping in the price!

Many years ago I bought a Canton subwoofer from the Ergo line. When it died prematurely bought a SVS SB-12NSD that had much better performance, was much smaller as well as cheaper.

All my speakers for over a decade has been Canton, but I avoid their subwoofers for their lacklustre performance.

Ya that’s a great deal on the HSU VTF2 mk4 pair.

My HSU VTF2 mk5 pair was $1,150 shipped if I remember right.
