I have the Pioneer DV-578a and the Yamaha RX-V750.

I can play DVD Audio and DTS disc but I jut bought Journey greatest hits in SACD and it only plays threw my 2 front speakers. I select multi-channel on my receiver but only the 2 front speaker’s output sound. I check all of the settings for the Pioneer DVD player and made sure I correctly inserted the analog inputs of my Receiver.

Can someone help me out; I am pretty new with this SACD stuff.

Thanks

What audio connection are you using? You have to use the 6 analog out from dvd to the 6 multi-channel audio in on receiver. Then select multi-channel input.

i have both the Digital optical and the 6 analog conections hooked up.

My receiver has a muti-channel button on the front and i select that, if its not in multi-channel mode i hear no sound when playing the SACD

Some SACDs are hybrids and also contain a standard Rebook CD layer. It sounds like that is what is getting played. Is there a menu on the disc where you can choose the hi-res layer instead of the 2 channel cd layer?

I don’t see a menu on the disc, when I click on the menu button on the DVD remote it says feature not accessible.

If I remember correctly, the Journey SACD is Stereo only. Just because is says SACD on it doesn't automatically mean it will be multichannel. Check the label on the Disc Jacket.
