can't decide...smooth or chunky

just bought the sony kds-50a2000 and am setting up an 8x10 room. need a sound system and can't decide the receiver...onkyo sr-604 ($499) or the denon avr-2807 (more than $499). Love the HDMI both offer, and other than 5.1 vs. 7.1 ....what should I do. Do I need to spend more and what would I be missing..

Receiver Options

It won't take much power to make things loud in your small room. I would recommend something in the $300 range like a Yamaha HTR-5960 or a similar model from Denon. If you get a bigger place in a couple years, you can upgrade to an HDMI model with the latest features, etc.

Not sure if you have the speakers picket out, but you might consider using your budget on a good 2 channel or 2.1 system and expanding as your room and budge allows.

thanks for the advice...i'll look into the yamaha. My set up in the family room has an Integra receiver with Atlantic Technology speakers (5.1). Iwas thinking of the 2200 series from atlantic
