I bought the toshiba 56HMX96 (720p/1080i) but for 500 more i can get the
56MX195 (1080p). The tv has not been delieverd yet so I was thinking about returning it and getting the "better" tv. will it be worth the extra money and time or should i just keep the one i bought?

both are great sets, however the 1080p model doesnt support a 1080p source, it relys on the internal scalers inside the TV to take a 720p/1080i signal to scale it to 1080P

However,

In about a month or so toshibas releasing the "196" models, those TV sets will support a 1080p signal through HDMI, and for a few bucks less. Mitsubishi has just released their 57" 731 sets, those also support 1080p.

Also next month Sony's new 1080p SXRD (A2000) sets will be arriving, IMHO Wait a month to see the new and improved, and most likely cheaper sets.
