I have purchased a used Onkyo TX-SR602. It is supposed to have a volume range of 0-100, but it reads MAX at 50 and will not go any higher. And 50 is not that high at all. I wonder if there was some programming that set this upper limit and if I can undo it. Please advise. Thanks a lot for your time.

There is a max volume setting. There is also a setting to put the volumes in "relative" numbers, which might be what is happening. Do you have the manual? If not, you can download it from the Onkyo support site here (scroll down to find the 602). The volume preferences are on page 74.

Thanks a lot. That was really helpful. The volume was set at 50 max...

Fantastic! I'm glad that worked.

BTW, did you end up ordering a remote for your Onkyo? Just curious.

Thats a great feature if you have kids or even babysitters that cant control themselves.
