Cannot Get Both Subwoofer and Center Speaker to Work Simultaneously!

I am setting up a Home Theater System and I have the following equipment: Philips DVD (DVP5500S) Player with 5.1 Channel output; a Luxeon LogicFox V5.1 with built-in Amplifier.

I made all the cable connections carefully but I cannot get both the Subwoofer and the Center Speaker to play simultaneously. In other words, I can only get either the Subwoofer to work correctly or the Center Speaker to work correctly but not both! What is more head-scratching is that I can get the Subwoofer to work if the cable at the other end is connected to the DVD Player’s Center output port!

Where might the problem be? What am I doing wrong?

The thing I would do first is re-check the connections. Make sure that you're running all 6 of the interconnects from the DVD player to the 5.1 inputs on the sub. Also make sure that you have the switch set to "5.1". Lastly, check to make sure all the speaker connections toward the bottom are tight and proper.
