Seriously, I have no life.
This is what happens when members of the government do what they want because a small number of people got their attention and they don't ask the majority or their views.

From the link, "White House press secretary Jen Psaki once again attempted to rebrand the Republicans as being the party that supports defunding the police after they refused to support Biden’s America Rescue Plan. "

I really don't care which news outlet this comes from because it's on many sites and I have heard about it several times in the last few days but they just have to blame someone for their bad plans. Remember Rahm Emmanuel's "Never let a crisis go to waste"?

Crime was up before last year, so that isn't an excuse for the Democrat's idea that de-funding caused it. Besides, THEY were the ones clamboring that police departments receive reduced funding or re-allocate the money they do get.

One of the 800 pound Gorillas WRT reduced funding- all of the protesting that is still happening (at least, it's still happening in Milwaukee) is the absurd loss of officers which again applies to Milwaukee and the resulting explosion of the cost for overtime. The local news rag (jsonline.com) posted an article on their website that shows the payroll for every city employee and most of the highest paid are police officers with one pulling down $192K last year. IIRC, I waded through 4-5 pages before I saw the Mayor, Fire & Police Chiefs and others who would normally be at the top of the payroll food chain. The law enforcement presence isn't just from the City, it's County Sheriff's deputies, State Patrol and all of the surrounding county agencies, which are paid by the city they're assisting. Then, there's the stupid increase in vehicle thefts/chases, shootings, armed robberies and other crimes that are now rampant because the city can't possibly cover the whole place with such a short staff.

I can't wait to see the budget for next year- I hope the ones who want chaos and mayhem get what they want, good & hard.

WRT Canada- I guess it's a case of "Group-think for the people!".

Ever see this?

Hope this doesn't come to fruition ..........

Bill C-10 is a travesty. Just view some of the videos by Ian Runkle (Runkle of the Bailey) on YouTube. He also has a bunch of great videos regarding Bill C-21 (gun control laws) that show what a horrible mess that is as well. Those clowns don't have a clue on how to write proper legislation. Bill C-10 still has to get past the senate. Our only hope is that they stall until the next election and someone else gets in power. Canada already has anti-hate-speech legislation so the provisions in C-10 are more about government oversight which is the last thing we need. Sadly Trudeau is a pretty boy that still has wide support and it won't be easy to turf this turd of a legislation.

This is weapons-grade BS.

Bill C-10 is an amendment to the Broadcasting Act. The Act sets out the broadcasting policy for Canada, the role and powers of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC - roughly similar to the FCC) in regulating and supervising the broadcasting system. The amendment would add online undertakings as a distinct class of broadcasting undertaking subject to the Act. Online undertaking would be defined in the Act as an undertaking for the transmission or retransmission of programs over the Internet to the public by means of broadcasting receiving apparatus. Users of social media services who upload programs for sharing with other users, and are not affiliated with the service provider, would not be subject to broadcasting regulation in that respect.

In other words, I could post my worst hair-on-fire conspiracy theory on social media without fear of being hauled in front of the judge. If it becomes an overbearing power grab, a legal challenge under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is always an option.

I'm no fan of Trudeau, but the opposition parties have yet to offer an alternative worth considering. And, rest assured, Canada is not "sliding toward dictatorship".

Who bent over when the rioting began? No, it wasn't republican-run cities- it was Portland, Seattle, Milwaukee, etc. Did anyone notice that Detroit hasn't been mentioned during this?

I'm not attacking any party as much as I'm pointing out that letting bad actors do what they want, doesn't work.

OK, the protesters got everyone's attention- now, what? I have seen no indication that anyone from BLM or any other organization has met or plans to meet with city governments, to hammer out some changes that work for everyone. It can't be one-sided, after all. This has irreparably changed the cities where the rioting was worst and not for the better. Billions of dollars in damage and several people died because of it and that can't be reversed.

I wouldn't mind if the protesting was 100% peaceful- I have no problem with protesting but I do have a problem with rioting. My biggest problem with all of this is the lack of a plan and any noticeable attempt at finding a solution, beyond yelling that the police need to stop killing people. However, cops are still being ambushed and attacked by groups when the details of some situations aren't yet known.

I still want to know- what's next? People can't be left to do what they want- it doesn't work.

Blaming the (system) and or Injustice as a reason to riot and loot and murder isn't right! Two wrongs Never make a right. One-sided protest aren't going to serve nothing but self-righteousness. Some (group) of citizen seem to believe it's owed to them and someone else has to pay. Crime infested drug gangs that run cities and or (Blocks) and their own Mother's, Father's, brothers or sisters look the other way, they love the money. They cry on camera saying it's got to stop when one of their own gets shot dead from drug deals going bad or an innocent child of one or two years old gets gunned down from drive-bys. But yet claim self-righteousness and go a looting burning down businesses and murdering for BLM.. what a crock of s*** in my book.
