Can you recommend either of these?

I’m not sure if I’m posting in the right forum. My wife agreed to let me put a basic home theatre system in the family room but we have a limited budget of about $600CDN. I was considering either of these systems but I’d like your guys expert opinion.

Onkyo HT-S5400 currently on sale for $550CDN
Onkyo HT-S3400 on sale for $400CDN


I’m considering the S5400 as my first choice but is there any other brands you’d recommend over Onkyo?

How big is your room? and is there a preference for 5.1 or 7.1?
I bought my Onkyo here 1 AND A HALF YEAR AGO WITH NO PROBLEMS. Not sure If they ship to Canada, but these are better choices:

I didn’t see any mention of international shipping but my biggest concern would be any duty or brokerage fees for crossing the border. I like those prices tho especially considering our dollar is pretty much the same.

I’ll search to see if they’re available anywhere in Canada at roughly the same prices but I doubt it.
