My advice is that if you don't know what you're doing you should send it back to Phase Technology for repair.

I believe their are other boards with more dedication to DIY electronics.
Audioholics DIY is really oriented towards speakers and subwoofers. That said, there are a few people here who know about electronics repair - they may or may not notice your thread; thus my suggestion to try another forum, like this one:

diyAudio

Irvrobinson's advice is generally sound, but I am always reluctant to discourage someone who is willing from DIY - I'm just not sure a DP 2000 would be my first choice as a test subject for learning electronics repair.
If you determine those components are bad and replace them, there is no guarantee that a malfunction elsewhere didn't cause the failure. But see what other forums suggest. They may recognize the situation once you post some pics.

You will definitely want to figure out how to post photos regardless of where you end up going for answers.

PhotoBucket is a free service for storing photos that you can then post on forums:

Good Luck!

Seriously, I have no life.

It is very unlikely the failure started with the cooked components. It is also odd that there is an identical failure on both boards. Did you by any chance connect the two positive speaker terminals together?

I should caution you that messing with gear like this, when you don't know what you are doing is dangerous. My hunch is that the power transistors in both amps are burnt out. The question is why?
