I don't know a lot about this stuff, this will be my first receiver I buy and I have a few questions. I don't have a lot of money I'd like to get a receiver for around 150$ tops and no more than about 100$ tops for each speaker.

1. Can I even get a good decent receiver for 150$ and 100$ per speaker good enough ?

2. Can I get a receiver that has Bluetooth so I can play Pandora from my phone wireless android phone ? Do people even do this should I get a receiver that is Bluetooth capable any cons ? would you get a receiver that has Bluetooth ? Can I still get a good receiver with Bluetooth still for around 150$ without comprising on the quality of the receiver ?

3. I only have the room for a two speaker setup plus I really don't want more then two speakers anyway. Do most receivers accommodate the 5.1 setup that a lot of people get just in case ?

I was looking at these two receivers:

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-STRDH130-Channel-Stereo-Receiver/dp/B006U1VH2S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1393462749&sr=8-1&keywords=Sony+STR-DH130

Amazon.com: Yamaha Natural Sound Stereo Receiver (R-S201BL): Electronics

These are the type of speakers I want tall and thin:

Amazon.com: Pioneer SP-FS52-LR Andrew Jones Designed Floor standing Loudspeaker (each): Electronics

4. If say for example I get Sony receiver is it ok or abnormal to get a diff brand of speakers to go with my receiver ? is it best to get same brand ? Do many stick with the same brand ?

5. The speakers would they be good without the center or bookshelf and sub woofer ? I just want to get two speakers that have good all around sound including some bass too. Is it okay if I buy these out of the set to use only as a two piece setup ? any cons ? thanks

By the way people talk about amps and receivers like they are two diff things what is the diff ?

Any other tips I need to know ? thanks

Is this just for music no tv?

If its just for music this will be a really nice start...

for streaming from your phone http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Speaker-Adapter-Bluetooth/dp/B004VM1T5S/ref=pd_sim_e_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=1QRK7S1EHZZJMBR7EE7N

pair of bookshelfs http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SP-BS22-LR-Designed-Bookshelf-Loudspeakers/dp/B008NCD2LG/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1393467495&sr=1-1&keywords=pioneer+speakers

and an amp to power them
Amazon.com: Dayton Audio DTA-100a Class-T Digital Amplifier 50 WPC (Black): Electronics

a pair of these for $15 http://www.amazon.com/Sewell-Direct-SW-30012-6-Silverback-Speaker/dp/B009RT2IAK/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1393467598&sr=1-4&keywords=speaker+cables depending how far your speakers are going to be..

and one of these to hook in your streamer http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-1-5ft-Premium-22AWG-Cable/dp/B003L1717K/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1393467865&sr=1-5&keywords=rca+cables

all of that will be around $250 and will be a good little 2.0 music only system, a simple really short signal path, the andrew jones pioneers have a good sound for their price, the dayton amp is powerful and small plus will control your volume...

It's for the living room tv and music but mostly for movies. I can't buy all that plus a receiver.

I thought it was for music only, the units you listed are for music and you didnt mention a tv, sorry... If you were not using a tv the above system would not need another receiver..

does it have to be on amazon? get the blue tooth adapter and one of these.... also I would go for 3 channels for movies and add the pioneer center to your list.. Amazon.com: Pioneer SP-C22 Andrew Jones Designed Center Channel Speaker: Electronics
DENON AVR-1513 5.1ch Home Theater Receiver 3D ready | Accessories4less

also a sub will drastically improve movies even a budget unit like this Dayton Audio SUB-800 8" 80 Watt Powered Subwoofer | 300-627

Ok so I would use the Bluetooth adapter with the receiver then, I'm surprised they don't have many receivers that include Bluetooth, I did not see one yet on amazon. Lets say I have a mp3 device player that don't have Bluetooth to use it with the receiver would I just simply use the 1/4 jack on the front of the receiver to the 3.5mm on the mp3 player and thats it ? Also is it pretty common to buy speakers from a diff brand than your receiver ?

Theirs a guy at work says it's best to buy the complete package where the receiver and speakers are together so you don't under or over power either component spec wise they were made for each other ?

I have a 200$ gift-card it has to be from amazon.

I really need as much of these questions answered, please so I can make a good choice of what to buy.

1. I've seen receivers with HDMI inputs, why would a receiver need inputs for HDMI ? My HD-DVR connects HDMI directly to the TV so does my DVD player which I almost never use. I use on-demand for all my movies for the time being. When I get a receiver I was simply connect it to the TV via a digital optical cable and call it a day, is this correct ?

2. What about being able to play Pandora/mp3 from my smart phone how would that work, would I need something like this to do it wireless:

http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wirel...1EHZZJMBR7EE7N

3. Lets say I have a mp3 device player that don't have Bluetooth to use it with the receiver would I just simply use the 1/4 jack on the front of the receiver to the 3.5mm on the mp3 player and thats it or I could use the USB on the front too ? would both work ?

4. Also is it pretty common to buy speakers from a diff brand than your receiver ? Theirs a guy at work says it's best to buy the complete package where the receiver and speakers are together so you don't under or over power either component spec wise they were made for each other ? How do you the speakers you buy are a good match up with the receivers ?

5. Would these speakers have good enough bass and good overall sound, and also by the way these speakers are part of a 5.1 set but I would only buy these cause of the shape I don't have alot room in the corner of the room. Is it abnormal to buy only this pair out of the 5.1 set ? Is that odd if so why ?
and no I'm not trolling/joking around.

6. Last question, I see receivers have AM/FM radio but how are you suppose to get radio stations without a antenna ? Do receivers have built in antennas ?
