Hi all,

I have a question about installing in-wall speakers. I am building a new house and am going to be pre-wiring for home theater. I will possibly be using in-wall speakers and was wondering if it is an outside wall with insulation can the speaker touch the insulation or rather the plastic vapor barrier?

Thanks
John

You can get vapour barrier pans for this. They work the same as the ones for electrical boxes only bigger.

You might find them at electrical supply shops or even at a custom installers. The custom installers should at least know where to get them.

Yeah i'm sure they do. I am going to possibly have an installer install the system and then when money permits buy the speakers then. Not too sure yet just considering things. Does anyone know anything about Audiotrak speakers? Those are the speakers the installer uses but I was thinking of using Paradigm. Any suggestions?

Some excellent speakers I have installed for customers and family are Emphasys, NXG Technologies, Niles, B&W, Speakercraft, and more. I have yet to hear of those you mentioned. I would be a bit sceptical. PM me for more detailed experiences.
