Can I still get HD if my sat box only has component input and TV only has HDMI?

I just bought a new LCD HDTV and bought a satellite box.

The TV has 1 HDMI and 1 component connection for viewing HD, but I already have the component connection filled up by my XBox. (Yeah I know, not enough inputs. I have an Olevia 232V and otherwise it's great). So I just have that 1 HDMI for HD.

The satellite box only has 1 component and no HDMI. I have the sat box hooked up to my TV through the S-Video connection right now.

I want to be able to watch satellite TV in HD but I don't want to have to disconnect the component HD everytime I play XBox.

Is there anything I can do to fix that problem? I haven't seen a component to HDMI cable yet. Any suggestions?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Thanks,
John

I highly doubt there will ever be a component to HDMI cable (HDMI is digital and component is analogue for one thing), but there are receivers and other devices that will up-convert component to HDMI.

Adam has a good suggestion, or if you have a receiver that has component video switching, you could use that.

D-sub15 to RCA Component

I believe your set will accept the VGA as the second component port. From website, "2 Component + 2 R/L RCA Audio (VGA connector accepts as 2nd Component source)."
http://www.olevia.com/products/detail.aspx?pid=232v

If that's the case, all you need is a D-sub 15 VGA to RCA breakout cable to gain one more component input.
Something like this:

Not sure if the VGA connection on the set is male or female. Either way it's just a cheap gender changer if the cable is wrong.

EDIT: I bet you like my $3.00 suggestion?

That is a much better alternative to my suggestion if the TV can handle it. Cheaper, and it doesn't require manually switching the sources.

I also like no. 5's comments on having a receiver do it...I didn't even think of that. Great option if you have a receiver that can do it or are looking to get a new one.
