I use a power sequencer to turn on and off my audio equipment in the proper order.
On:
1. Preamp
2. Amp
Off:
1. Amp
2. Pre-Amp
My problem is the Pre-amp comes on then goes right into standby which B&K describes as "Soft-Off". In other words it's a "logical" on/off rather than a true mechanical power switch.
They will not say that it is OK, but rather that many of their customers leave their main amp on and soft power their pre-amp with no trouble.
Any suggestions?
My other option is to find or build an amp control relay. The pre-amp has a 12V DC output just for that purpose.
