Can I have a mix of speakers that are different OHM while using one amplifier/receive

Hey Audioholics, I had a question that I really needed an answer to.

I was thinking of getting an RBH sound system as mentioned in Gene's reviews, but noticed that each speaker had different OHMs.

For example, if I have the 61 SE/R speakers as the surround back channels or even the front left and right, they are 8ohm speakers which a yamaha receiver like mine can drive pretty good (rx-v 2600). The receiver doesn't drive 4ohms great, but I am planning on a upgrade to a new receiver/amp.

The question is that the center speakerWIll be a 6ohm speaker, the 661, and if I use it in leiu of a floorstanding then the first 3 channels, left, center, right will be 6 ohm

How will these effect my receiver and the speakers? Is that allowed to be done, using different ohm speakers with one amp.

Will it damage my speakers? What are the drawbacks, I know the manual says that 4ohm speakers must be set at 4ohm on the receiver, but it doesn't say anything about being cautious about 6ohm, although there is a setting.

Axiom says 6ohm speakers are compatible with8 ohm receivers.
