Can I calibrating TV colors for different inputs?

Hello:

I’m a new member here and hoping someone can help me with a problem.

I’ve got a Panasonic PT-53WX53G TV that is calibrated just fine for the DVI input from my ATT U-Verse service and the component input from my DVD player (Oppo).

The problem is that when switching input sources to a VCR (Toshiba VCR/DVD recorder combo), which also has a component connection, the picture has a very noticeably pink tint.

I just connected my Wii to a Netflix online account and when using that source the movies have a very significant orange tint to them.

I cannot seem to find anything in the TV’s manual about adjusting colors for different input sources (it appears to just have one base adjustment.) Is this even an option and if so how would I go about doing it?

I'm not been able to find any references to a color adjustment on the output of either the Wii or DVD player.

Has anyone every heard of a problem like this and know of any possible solutions?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions as this really has me baffled!

As far as I know, for a long while anyway, adjustments have been specific to the inputs because input sources can vary as you're seeing. To veify, make note of say the tint level of one of your calibrated inputs then make a change to one of the uncalibrated inputs and see if it changes. I also doubt that the different inputs have the same settings.

Thanks for the reply! So far I have not been able to find anything in the manual for the TV about calibrating for different inputs. Your comments reassure me that this is possible so I'll keep looking! I poke around more on the on-screen menus tonight and maybe can find it there!

A lot of older sets did not have this functionality. On some Panasonic sets you could get around this by using different pciture presets on different inputs.

Thanks to AVRat for the encouragement that this was actually possible! I never really found it spelled out in the manual, but I eventually figured it out through the online menu!

Different inputs, different calibrations

In my Sony, this is the case. I just learned that when I had to hang my TV on the wall because of the restless and curious little hands we have in the house.

Since the HDMI input on the side is more accessible, I'm now using it instead of the one on the back and I had to re-calibrate.

Mine has 4 HDMI inputs and some more analog inputs. It will be a PIA just thinking of the specific calibration per input you have to make.
