hi can i bi amp my monitor audio rx6 fronts to my onkyo 5009 and rocksan kandy k2 stereo power amp and still get 9.1 sound need help asap please >)

hi on the back of the roksan k2 stereo power amp it has two sets of rca inputs straight rca l+r and trimmed rca l+r i put the rca cable from pre amp outputs on my onkyo 5009 do i put the other end in straight rca l+r or trimmed rca l+r to get 11.1 channels need help asap please >)

need a 2 channel reciever?

hi i have the usa onkyo 5009 amp i want to do 11.1 the amp does 9.2 i was told by a onkyo technitian that if i add an external 2 channel reciever i could then make it 11.2 channels by putting a optical cable from the optical out of the 5009 to the optical input of the 2 channel reciever is this correct would it work if so could anybody please recomend a 2 channel reciever that i could connect to the onkyo 5009 to give me 11.1 the onkyo technitian recommended the 2 channel stereo onkyo cr-545 reciever but i noticed it has no optical inputs i need a 2 channel reciever that has optical inputs and has pre amp inputs need help asap please

hi i want to do a 9.1 setup using rx6 av12 speaker package on my onkyo 5009 i want to use the 5.1 rx6 av12 and add a set of front wide speakers rx1s and a set of front height speakers rx1s i want to bi wire the front rx6s as well would this be ok for 9.1 and can you tell me is there any options on the onkyo 5009 that i need to change for this configuration thanks need help asap

If you do a search on this forum you'll find that bi-amping has been discussed over and over, and the consensus is that it almost never provides an improvement in audible performance.

The K2 is an integrated amp with no way of inputting directly to the amp section, at least I didn't see it in the manual.

The 5009 doesn't seem to have an output so you could set up a 11.1 system. Not sure where you will find a processor that supports 11 channels.

An optical output would only have a 5.1 DD/DTS digital signal in it as best I know. A 2 ch integrated amp if it has a capability to process a digital signal would process it into two channels, probably the front two channels. Is that what you want in a 11.1 system, 4 front channels? How would you set up the speakers, in what configuration?

Which pre amp out are you considering on the 5009?
The k2 is an integrated amp with its own preamp. I don't think you want to connect a pre amp out from the 5009 into the pre amp in in the k2.
But, I have been known to be wrong, from time to time.

No, you cannot buy-wire and haven a 9.1 setup at the same time with the 5009.

If it has "main in" like my Marantz integrated does, then you can indeed bypass the internal preamp section and use it like any other amp.

I can't think of many integrated amps that even have digital inputs. A stereo receiver would, but you would be able to set most sources to stereo output even via SPDIF, and the receiver can probably do it too.
