I was wondering if a sub or speaker can be ruined because of loud hum? I know you can't hear it when you turn the volume up but can it still hurt your sub or speaker?

As humming is the result of a underlaying problem it's not good and the problem needs to be found and addressed.

The most common cause is a grounding issue somewhere. Failing that you have a defective product somewhere.

Seriously, I have no life.
A hum by itself is a signal being amplified and most likely a sine wave. If it doesn't bother you, it will not harm the speaker by itself.

It can if the amplifier is operating at wide open and the hum causes full output but it also depends on how the hum is getting into the signal path.
