Can a Dayton 1Kw amp power a Tumult 18?

As the topic says. I asked this question in another post but felt I should post a new topic as not to wander to far from the posters original question. Basically rather new to the whole DIY sub world, or at least to the recent 10 years of subwoofer technolgy advancements. I just recently saw the specs on the Adire Tumult 18D4 and was wondering if a dayton 1000w plate amp would actually power that driver. I believe the driver is 1000w RMS and I am not sure if that is per voice coil. If I am going to try and make a dual 12" driver end table, I think a single Tumult 18" coffee table would be a little bit more entertaining...

edit: When I say power, I mean will that amp do that driver justice or does it need much more power than that.

Thanks in advance

Assuming the amp will do 1000w RMS, it should be a good match. If it was my setup, I would use the big Behringer EP2500 for 2,400 rms (mono). Just be safe. :) Especially if in a sealed configuration. At least if the sub doesn't need all that power , you have plenty of headroom. Look into a dedicated outlet/circuit though.:) I would say you could easily get by with the EP1500.

It would be a ported sub. Basically still up in the air as to what sub/s and amp combo to build for under 1k that will shake a house off its foundation:D
