Cambridge 840C - Wow factor

Maybe it is the quality of the RBH speakers I have in combination with the Denon AVR 3808CI ... I can hear a huge difference in quality, in the soundstage and timber of CDs - especially in the upper range (cymbals, etc) after purchasing and adding the Cambridge 840C to my system as compared to playing on Blu-ray. Might be the quality of the D/A conversion the Cambridge provides (I'm using analogue output for the 840C).

That is an excellent player. I auditioned it about a year ago and was impressed with how detailed it was. It was more than I wanted to spend and I ended up migrating to a computer based system, so I picked up the DACmagic. Not as good as the 840, but still very good. Sit back and enjoy the tunes!

I read the reviews and have been looking to purchase the 840C for about a year. I have been keeping an eye on the price point on the net. I found an excellent deal and went for it.

I've always liked their stuff. Last one I heard was a 640C and it sounded very good, but I wasn't blown away by it. It was comparable to my Denon 2900. Congrats.
