First off, let me start of by saying hi to everyone on the forum. This is my first post on Audioholics and I hope that I'll gain some valuable information while I'm here. I'm not really new to home audio scene, but after years living on the lower end of Onkyo, Denon, and Infinity offerings I'm slowing acquiring some better equipment.

Enough about me, on to the true subject of my thread. I happened across these on my local Offerup and was immediately caught by the name. I'm familiar with Acoustat and their famous ESL speakers from decades ago, but I don't know anything about their dynamic speaker offerings. I'm hoping that someone can help me track down some information.

I plugged them in to a cheap 2-channel sony receiver I had for my garage and found that one of the tweeters didn't work. I removed the tweeter and one of the spade connectors had simply fallen off the terminal. Easy fix. They sound phenomenal. To be honest, they sound even better than the B&W DM601 S2s that I have. Larger than average bookshelf speakers and much heavier.

Something tells me, you scored a hidden treasure. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the brand and my extensive google search didn't find much, besides some hints, but not much more:

AudioKarma forums have lots of folks very knowledgable in vintage audio. I'd definitely post there
Thats about how far I got too. Thanks for the recommendation about audiokarma forum. That thread was what made me pull the trigger on them in the first place.

I didn't even know Acoustat ever made a dynamic speaker. I owned a pair of the giant 2+2 ESLs back in the day.
