I want to hear different ideas and what you guys do to calibrate your home theater and all the equipment that goes with it. Sometimes it is nice to hear how other people do things, you never know you may pick up a new tip or technique you never thought of before. This is personally what I am hoping for.
Video displays, subs, surrounds, don't leave anything out. Make sure to mention what test discs and instruments you use.
I am interested in putting together a rock solid calibration procedure for my new room and I think my current strategy and tools are rather inadequate.
I think I need to obtain a test tone disc, I have read a lot about the Rives audio disc... any comments or suggestions? I currently do not own a frequency sweep tone disc, I think it's about time I got one. I do however own a copy of the Avia guide to home theater... been a long time since I used it though so I can't even remember what's on it to be honest.
I would also appreciate any comments on properly setting up two subs, especially in regards to proper phasing when the subs are on opposing ends of a rectangular room. I have read a lot of differing opinion on proper phase adjustments, please provide some insight.
Thanks in advance.
