I saw this I thought it was hilarious. I'm not sure how it really matters honestly.

Probably just a clever ad campaign. If you live in the UK, you would probably buy one to see if it tastes different.

I just spent a full minute with an enticing 3X scale image of a split open Cadbury egg in front of me, increasing the chance that I might grab a pack the next time I am in the grocery store!

Since the product is appearing in stores now, they had to make the decision months ago. But now is the time for press release. If they were really worried about bad publicity, they would have announced earlier so people would have somewhat forgotten by now.

Probably cost Cadbury about $100 to put out the announcement. Pretty sweet investment!

I am not a big fan of sweets, but I have 2 weaknesses.

Reese's PB Cups
Cadbury Creme Eggs

Luckily the eggs are only available for a few months of the year.

Story older than life itself. Hundreds of years traditions of making great products by company A. Big investors buy company A and promise to keep it same. Few years down the road someone is charged with "streamlining" company A. Top ingredients gets replaced with "as good" versions.

Results : a) new owners make more money b) loose couple of fans, but c) spend small fortune on ads to attract 10x new customers
