Cabling / Bananna Plugs Selection

I am thinking about getting this cabling from monoprice please let me know if you think this will be good as a start for my system.

Solder type banana plugs are a pain. Can you solder?

Just get the screw type...they will be simpler and work just as well.

yes i can solder. When i was younger i used to desolder old computer boards for fun I was looking at the plugs more closly and it looks like they can also be used as compression screw banannas. What do you think of the cable.

Speaker wire is the least important cable in the whole system. That speaker wire will be just fine, but do you really need 12 gauge? If your wire run will be less than 50 feet, 16 gauge will work or you could get 14 gauge just to lower the resistance a tad more (not that it will be audible in either case).

You didn't indicate if you were going to run the wire in-wall. If you are, you need a different cable. The one you picked is not rated for in-wall, it needs to be CL2 or CL3 rated depending on you local code.
