Hi. This link here is a nice, quick read on recommended speaker wire gauges.

As for speaker wire, no need to get a fancy brand name. You can buy based on aesthetics if that's your choice, as there are some nice looking wires out there. For performance, though, you can go inexpensive and get a great value.

Monoprice.com is a popular site here for cables. I've never bought their speaker wire, but I've bought other types of cable from them.

Hard for me to say based on the listing. It states "3.5mm", but I don't know if that includes the insulation or not. If that's the bare wire gauge, that's between 7 and 8 gauge...that's thick. At 10m, that's plenty thick for low resistance. The biggest issue would probably be getting wires that thick connected to your speakers or put into connectors (e.g. banana plugs) - not impossible, but perhaps a bit of a pain.

I apologize if you posted this before, but do you live in the U.K.? I'm asking before I look for some recommended wire for you.

Monoprice.com ships to Canada. You'd have to check what the shipping charges are, though. Looks like customers are happy with their speaker wire.

What kinds of specs are you looking for? Length, wire gauge, and wire material are the ones that come to mind. Most speaker wire is going to be copper. Oxygen-free copper (OFC) is very common, so don't think that it's special and warrants extra cost.

While not as aesthetically attractive to some, electrical cable from places like Home Depot would work just as well. Electrical copper is electrical copper. Your receiver (or amp) and speakers form parts of an electrical circuit, and the copper wire completes that circuit. The reason to buy thicker wire is because that's required to keep the resistance low over the longer lengths, and that's described in the article that I linked to.

Wire is the easy part, really. No need to make it difficult on yourself. Read that article (or ask us) what you need for performance, then choose wire based on your budget and aesthetic desires.

If oxygen-free copper is the best, then i'll buy that

I need 4 wires of around 10 feet and two of around 40 feet

thanks a lot!!

18 AWG is THINNER than 12 AWG, that's why it's cheaper. The lower the number the thicker the cable.

And yes, you just buy a 50ft/100ft/300ft spool and cut however much you need at the time.

So should i buy a thinner cable or not ? How can i be sure it will fit in my Energy CF-70 system ?

You buy the appropriate gauge cable for the length and power needed. I would not buy 18 awg cable. 12 will fit just fine in the CF-70s, but is probably more than what you need. Is 14awg not available?

Banana plugs are not a requirement but they do make life easier :)
