Cable Measurements...What?

Hi,

Can someone give me a quick run-down on what I should be looking for on cable measurements for speaker cables, digital cables, and interconnects for stuff like inductance, capacitance, and resistance? Are lower numbers better for all of these, or different for each type of cable? Thanks!

Yes, lower numbers are better but, always a 'but' in there someplace:D
For speaker cables, depending on length, use anywhere from 16ga, shorter runs, to 12 ga for long runs. Not to worry about inductance as it will not be audible in that ga range. The lower the ga, the lower the resistance.
Not to worry about capacitance either if you have competent components. Passive preamps are a different issue, the lower the capacitance numbers, the better. :D
Not much to worry about cables, in audio.
