Hi everyone, I'm new here and could use some serious help. I am in the process of building a home theater in my basement and I am looking for a decent bi wire speaker cable. I have been looking at QED Silver Anniversary bi wire cables and have heard that they will perform well for long runs. I currently use audio quest type 4 (non bi wire) and I am happy with them but would like to bi wire this time. Does anyone know anything about QED cable or Canare Cable. Or even suggest a bi wire cable that would perform to a least what the type 4's can do. I am using mirage OM10's and OM12 bipolar speakers with a Mirage MCsi center channel, they are all being driven with parasound amps and lexicon processor:confused: . Also would anyone know of a decent subwoofer cable for use with a mirage BPS150i? One more thing, I am looking for good video cables for my projector. I will need about a 15 foot run to my equipment, does anyone know of of good brand. My projector is a Runco CL510 dlp.

Thanks

I'm not looking for expensive cables. Just for good quality cables that will do the job without all the hype. Thanks for the link, I will check it out.

I would suggest you abandon buy-wiring speakers. Nothing there but more wires. Enjoy what you have now.:D
Any appropriate gauge wire will do if you insist, even low voltage landscape wire, 14ga-12ga.

Thanks for the input and on that note i have done my own "Blind Pepsi Taste Test". I decided to go and experience it for myself so I went out to Home Depot and bought some In-wall 12 awg speaker cable and compared it to the performance of Audioquest hyperlitz type 4 cables. (Test#1) I hooked up my left speaker with the Home Depot cable and the right channel to the Type 4. Asked my wife to sit down and give me her opinion on what sounnds better. I used Tony Bennett's Unplugged SACD and played " I left my heart in San Fransisco". I alernated between speakers by turnig down the rear gain control on the amps so as to hear only one speaker at a time. I then played Hotel California from the Eagles unplugged CD , but only played the instrumental part in the begining of the song. I was suprised to hear that my wife chose the Home Depot Cable. (Test#2) So I then Bi amped one Speaker with the Home depot Cable and one with the type 4's, again she chose the Home Depot cable. (Test#3) I then Bi wired the speakers with the Home Depot cable and Type 4's and low and behold she chose the Home Depot cable. I would like to mention that in every test I played the exact same part in the songs at the exact same volume so there would be no discrepencies, and most importantly my wife had no idea what cables I was using or to what speaker the where hooked up to. I have to say that I do agree with her choice in cable even when everything in my heart is telling me it can't be possible. This just proves that there is alot of hype in these so called exotic cables. In my hunt for cables I requested Audioquest via e-mail to suggest a comparable product of there new series cables to the type 4's and one week later no response.(says alot about there customer service). I do believe that there are excellent cables out there, but for the average person they are way out of budget. I also believe that high end cables can only perfom high end when used on equipment that can produce a high end sound, and even then can we really hear this. We all have diffrent hearing capabilities and what sounds good to one may not to another. So I am going with what I hear and not put so much weight in what cable companies like Audioquest say in there ads.

Equipment

Lexicon CP1
Parasound 2003 amps
Mirage OM10 Bipolar speakers
Audioquest hyperlitz type 4 speaker cable ($100/ 3m pair)
Home Depot 12awg in-wall seaker cable ( .80/ft)
