I really don't know, although I have had a couple of small e-bay items and one order from Axiom Audio go through in just a couple of days (from Canada to US, not your route).

Yes. The companies listed are all reputable stores. You should have no worries about ordering from them.

I kind of thought the same thing myself at the start, but it's not that bad.

First just figure out what you have and how it needs to be connected.

I then start by buying just the HDMI cable that I need for that length. That is, a cable that has HDMI connectors on both ends.

Then, determine any connections where there isn't and HDMI connection -- and get the appropriate adapter. In such a case, it would likely be a female HDMI to male DVI, but you'll need to make sure in each particular case.

The reason I'm suggesting adapters is that as time goes on, DVI is going to disappear and HDMI is going to be the "winner." When that happens, just toss your adapters in the drawer, and you left with nice, neat connections with HDMI cables only. If you buy specific cables now (like HDMI to DVI), you'll be using an adapter for all time, rather than just a short time. I just bought some parts from monoprice, and I think the type of adapter I'm discussing above was <$2. I've also purchased a 50' HDMI cable from bluejeanscable that was just fine.

Good luck!

I bought a "used" 8ft Rocketfish HDMI cable (the same brand that is sold at Best Buy) and have been using it for 3 weeks now with no problems. It was only $10 ($15 after shipping).

There is no magic in HDMI cables; just go with one that fits your budget and you will be fine. I paid $20 shipped for one from www.bluejeanscable.com and it works perfectly.
