Hi all,

I could use some help. I am building a new powered subwoofer (my first) using Dayton Audio Ultimax 15" with 1000w plate amplifier. The room is ~20ft x 22ft x 8ft. there are 3 walls to the room, each wall, floor and ceiling is insulated.

The questions are as follows.
What size cabinet should i build? is there a "maximum" size? Thinking of making it look like a bench.
Ported or sealed?
should i have the speaker face the room or have it face the floor?
is there any big mistakes to avoid doing? if so, what are they?
Was thinking of making the cabinet 1 1/2 mdf, is that okay?

I am going to tackle the surround speakers after this project, so any advice would be appreciated. Also, if it is easier to communicate, i can provide my email or phone if necessary

Thanks in advance!
