Is NAD a good company?
I'm looking into buying a NAD T773 AV reciver.

If you have or have had or are looking to buy one, please leave your thoughts on it.

Thank you

NAD is been around for a long time (mid 70's I believe). My first system was based upon NAD equipment, and the amp and preamp from that system still work today (20 years later).

My feeling is that NAD is still a very solid product that is thoughtfully designed with a clean display and powerful amp section.

There are manufacturers that have more bells and whistles on their receivers, and some of those units can be purchased at a lower price, but overall NAD is still a very competitive product.

The older NAD stuff is gold (in my opinion). They made some of the best power amps there are. I own one, as you can see from my sig, and I love it.

With my love for NAD stuff, when I was in the market for an upscale ($2000 CDN) receiver, I researched NAD on the net. What I read dissappointed me greatly. I wish I could remember the website, I think it was one of those ones where anyone can add their personla review of a product. Most are a waste of time to read, because USUALLY, people think what they own is best. HOWEVER, when I read the reviews posted by consumers about NAD they seemed to have some MAJOR quality control issues. People would be on their second or third receiver, as the ones they bought had amplifier channels simply quit working. I stayed away from NAD for that reason.

I know there are a few forum members that have newer NAD equipment, and likely love it, but what I read scared me off. I did my research about 2 years ago mind you.

In the early days of Dolby Digital (when it first became all the rage - replacing pro-logic), NAD'S receivers were just rebadged ONKYOS. OK, maybe thats too big a generalization. At least one model (I think it was NADS first dolby digital model) was also sold as an ONKYO. I don't remember the model number of the receiver, but it was a different color and had different markings on the front panel, but all of the controls were in the same place, and the rear panels were identical in every way.

You will have to pry my 1990's vintage NAD 2600A from my cold, dead fingers, but you couldn't give me anything made by NAD since 1997 or so.

DO YOUR RESEARCH B4 YOU DROP YOUR CASH ON THE COUNTER.

Just one mans opinion.....

I have one NAD C521BEE CD player for about six months with pleasing results. I also think about adding a NAD C272 power amp to my Yamaha receiver.

NAD receivers seem to be excellent music performers. However, I’ve heard of many QC issues regarding NAD receivers.

On the following forum you’ll find many threads regarding NAD receivers.

Especially you may want to read this thread.

My recommendation is to be very careful about buying a NAD receiver (buy from an authorized dealer, …. )

At last I have to add that I LOVE NAD products, and continue to buy their gear, of course those without QC problems!

After reading all the Neg remarks on the NAD product. I have since changed my mind and went for a Acram Diva AVR 300 Receiver.
