C/L/R 2500 or 3000 with this setup?

Hello all,
I am currently running a pretty nice def tech setup consisting of BP7004's for the front mains, C/L/R 2300 for the center, SuperCube II sub, and BP2X surrounds...all powered by a Denon AVR-2808CI. I'm not going to say I don't like the C/L/R 2300, but I would like something with a little more. I know the 2500 has the same sized drivers as the 7004's, and is it really worth spending the extra $200 on the 3000? I know the center is the meat and potatoes when it comes to watching movies, but I don't want it overpowering the 7004's either. It kind of sucks, though, because the Magnolia stores here in CA don't keep the 2500 or 3000 in stock, so I can't compare the two...or I guess compare them all to the 2300. I know the 2002 has the same drivers as the 7004's, but I really fell in "lust" of the sound of a center with a subwoofer. I know DefTechGuy has the 3000, and so does GlocksRock, so I'll be interested to hear what those two think of this upgrade!

Thanks,
Kyle

When going from the 2002 to the 3000 I noticed a huge difference in sound, but I'm sure that was mainly due to the subwoofer, not the larger sized mid woofers. But since you already have a center with a built in sub, I really can't say how much of an improvement you would actually hear. I'm sure you will notice some difference, as you would be going up in mid-woofer size, as well as subwoofer size, but not sure if it would be worth the extra money, I will say that I'm sure the 3000 won't overpower the 7004s you have as long as you keep everything level matched. I have actually been thinking about looking for a 2300 or 2500 to replace my 2002, but still haven't decided if I want to go that route or not. I would like to, but don't have the extra money right now, unless someone wants to get my 2002.

The main L/R are the meat, and potatoes of any system IMO.

I have one philosophy when it comes to purchasing. Never leave yourself in a position to "Wonder" if you should have purchased something else when you could have purchased it the first time.

MidCow2 also has the CLR3000 w/ his BP7002s.

I think the CLR3000 is definitely fantastic and worth every bit of my money.

The CLR3000 will not overpower your front BP7004s.

The nice thing about the 150-watts built-in 10" subwoofer of the CLR3000 is that you can increase or decrease the level on it to fit your taste.

I have my CLR3000 set to 11 o'clock, and I think GlocksRock does too. But if you think it is too much, you can always decrease it to 10 o'clock or 9 o'clock, etc.

I say definitely get the CLR3000. If you want to know how much I paid for mine, just send me a private message.:D

And in the future, if you ever feel the need to upgrade to the flagships BP7001SC or BP7000SC, you will not ever feel the need to upgrade the CLR3000 since it is already the flagship.:D

By the way, what's up with the Denon + Definitive?:D:D
