You must be outside the US. Jamo receivers are a bit of a ghost here. We see bookshelf speakers once in a while though. Not the higher end ones, moreso the budget Jamo's. The 793, although cool looking (like a Rotel), is only a 6.1 setup. The Marantz SR7500 is 7.1. The Marantz is a pretty beefy unit, weighing over 32 lbs. The Jamo is under 30. You might have a better power supply in the Marantz. Are you getting similar pricing on both units? If so, my vote is for Marantz. I considered the SR8500, but didn't want to spend twice what I did on my Denon 3805. The 8500 is a killer receiver.
