buying new amps recommendations

I'm in the market for new preamp and power amp, any recommendations? Was originally going to go with marantz se-7008, but wanted more power and quality so decided to go with seperates. I was thinking about the marantz av8801 and mm8077 setup, what do you guys think? Going to be paired with def tech bp-8080st floor standings, pro cinema 1000 surrounds and cs-8080hd center. going to buy a oppo-bp105d as well.

You aren't getting any more "quality" switching from a Marantz AVR to a Marantz Preamp and you can just as easily use the 7008 as a preamp. The idea behind separates really is the ability to choose the amount of amp power you have, not so much the processing side. IMO for the price, you can do better than the Marantz amp also.
