Why not get control of the light in the room so you don't have to be using a grey screen? If you do have light control, then there is no reason at all to be using a grey screen.

I would not use either of those models as they reprsent the absolute lowest quality frame/border possible for fixed front projection screens.

The Carada Criterion in Brilliant White is one of the best screens you can get for the money...

But their Precision is about $850 and is still a far better screen than the Draper and DaLite models you listed above.

Heck, I would even get this for the improvement in the frame quality over the Draper/DaLite models you listed...

(they should have that in grey as well)

Realistically, avoiding a grey screen is something I recommend to people and going with a matte white or minimal gain screen will provide you a very nice image, especially with natively high contrast home theater projectors like the AE4000.

The screen fabrics offered are the same for either. You're paying for the nice extra border. I would do it, as long as the extra cost is easy enough to swallow.

Josten hit it dead on. The extra cost is extremely appropriate for the jump in quality for the frame itself. The screen is not different, but if you look at their website it shows how the Criterion screen eliminates shadowing and helps to improve tension on the screen while providing a larger masking area (width) to the screen. Moreso, it is just a wider, heavier, better screen frame. Heavier may not matter much, but it supports the screen material in a more structurally sound manner which is ideal.

Better than the Precision, not to be confused with 'MUCH' better. ;)
