Hey, I am hoping someone can help with what i should buy, i am looking to spend around 1000 for a new receiver as my Onkyo 809 stopped recognizing my speakers. Can anyone recommend a receiver for that price range, preferably 7 channel or 9 channel.

Thanks.

We need more info. What type of speakers are you running? What do you mean your Onkyo "stopped recognizing" your speakers?

Receiver Recommendation

When looking at a receiver, the main thing you need to know first is that with your speakers, are they a high current efficient speakers? What ohm are the at stable? I personally have an Onkyo TXNR808, it works great for my speakers but I find the current on it is not strong enough to run my Def Tech speakers which require alot of power and current to run them. The Denon Receivers, from my experiences selling them, I find are a much more efficient receiver when it comes to power and current because they use complete seperate power supplies and transformers for there channel outputs so its more efficient and can handle a large load. The user interface works very well, in the beginning you get use to it, its much better than Pioneer because they are a headache at times to use in the interface and I had one for about 10 years and it wasnt easy. Have a look at the new AVR3313 or the AVR4313 which that one will be 9 channel and with a substantial power supply unit that will work great if you have very high efficent 4 ohm speakers. I sell Denon receivers so if you have quesitons, let me know but also let me know what speakers you have and your set up, would give me a better idea, thanks!

I would have gotten the same thing - well, I prefer the 3310 or 3311 because of aesthetics, but same thing. :D

Good decision in my book!

Hey, thanks for getting back to me. The AVR4313 hasn't been officially announced yet into Canada so I don't know pricing on it but if I had to guess from what the old 4311 is that it will be $2300.00 at the minimum and go Id say as high $3000.00. The AVR3313 I can sell you for 1099.99 which normally is 1299.99. We'd have to order it so let me know. I work at Audio Excellence in Vaughan so give me a call, name is David. Where do you live exactly?
