Seeking thoughts on what might be wrong with my receiver...
The AM radio works (rules out speaker setup, amp, etc.), but I can not get sound from anything else, digital or analog.
The front panel indicates it is detecting the optical input and detecting the type of encoding, just no sound...
This is a reinstall after loaning it to my Mother who returned it saying, "it died".
When I got it back from her it said something about a bad fan. I found no fans but I did find a blown fuse. I fixed the fuse, but now I still can't get audio except AM radio...
Any tips on finding the cause? Any hope of turning this Pinto back into a digital receiver?
William
P.S. Money is an issue, I am hoping to do this myself. I don't want to spend any on repair as I only spent $750 on it 4 years ago and repair is probably more than current value, and I don't have the $$$ to replace.
