Burned CD Playback Issues

I recently replaced the CD burner in my computer. Memorex drive. I also purchased some blank CDR's. (Memorex)

When I goto play these discs on my CD player (NAD C542) the player seems to not want to play the last few tracks on all the discs I burned today. Does not matter the number of tracks on the disc. It just will not play the last 2 to 4 tracks. However all my older CDR's they play fine. Some are on Memorex discs and some are on Maxell.

Now when I switch these newly burned discs to my DVD player (Integra DPS 6.5) all the newly burned discs play with no issues.

Im wondering where the issue is coming from. Is it the NAD player ? The blank discs ? I dont think its Itunes or the burner. Im thinking the NAD or the discs.

All discs that where burned where WAV files that where stored on my computer.

Anyone have any thoughts on this issue.

Thanks

How old is the NAD CD player? Are you using 700 MB CD-R (80 minutes) or 650 MB CD-R (72 minutes)?

CD-R are less reflective than pressed discs and older players sometimes have trouble reading them, but if it's only the last few tracks it could be that the player just can't read the 80 minute CD-R. It's also possible that the burned CD is not exactly in spec; ie did not have a 90 second lead-in and 90 second lead-out (did you perhaps use the 'overburn' feature of Nero?). Some players refuse to play those because technically they aren't 'correct'.

if you have lower quality media, the ink towards the end of the disc tends to be error prone.

also some cd players are good at reading burned discs and some arent.

id just recommend getting better quality cd's.

I went out and bought some new blanks today. (HP - CDR) They seem to do the trick along with me slowing the copy speed to 12X. My new copies today seem to run fine. All the way through.

Im a little new to burning but im a having field day. I will probably go throught this 50 pack in a day or two. I have a tremoundous amount of MP3's at 320 kbs(AAC), and they sound great along with a bunch of WAV files.

Thanks for the tips.
