Howdy, we just got a bumper pool table for our apartment, but we're having a slight problem. The felt feels really cheap, and the balls are having a problem staying still or traveling straight. I know it has to do with the leveling, but there's only so much we can do. Is there a way to add friction to the felt to stop the balls from rolling so much?

Seriously, I have no life.
Use a straightedge to make sure the top is flat. If not, use paper to shim it at any available points. If it's new, call the dealer and ask about this.

You would need to recover it to slow the balls and possibly add padding beneath the felt. Bar tables use this to protect the felt when the balls bounce and it looks like the felt has little nap but a fast table it good for learning an extreme level of ball control.
