OK, so i work at BB and can get my hands on a lot of stuff that BB dosent carry, by going directly through vendor, they give employees a good price in hope we will sell there stuff, so that being said. I am currently looking at a reciever. models such as the Denon AVR-4806CI, and Pioneer VSX-94TXH, and Yamaha RX-V3800. the Denon is about double the price but my first reciever was a denon and its still kicking. But now im going to HDDVD and Blu Ray, so i want the best. Im looking at Certs. the Denon is the only to offer THX ULTRA 2 the the Yamaha and Pioneer has Dolby TrueHD(not sure if denon has it, they dont list) The Yamaha has 140 RMS@.04 THD(advertised) and the Denon 140@.05 THD and Pioneer at 140@.09 THD..the Pioneer and Denon dont advertise RMS(Are they?)...What do you guys think any ideas are helpfull

I'd be very interested to know what speakers your using in your system? Are you purchasing this receiver for it's video capabilities, or audio?

And the 4806ci is more then double the price of the Pioneer, and Yamaha.

900 bucks; I am just using it as a 3 channel amp.
$900 % 3 = $300
$1699 % 7 = $242

$58 x 4 = $232

Means 1 channel would have almost been free. And you could have bi-amped your speakers.

speaker choice

Well i am undecided so far, i was thinking a set of reference klipsch, (RF-82x2,RC-52x1,RS-42x4,RW12dx1)..But i have avaible to me martin logan and Definitive Technology as options. The recievers are at my discount $1000 each for the Pioneer and Yamaha, and $2000 for the denon, Yes i will be using for video alot, HDDVD & Blu Ray, Direct TV all hooked HDMI through it. I can get the Denon AVR-5805CI for $3500 do u think the extra 1500 from the AVR-4806CI is worth it?

If you are going to be using a bunch of HDMI connectivity and video options you might want to wait for BB to be able to get your Denon's new line of receivers with HDMI 1.3. If you can get the Denon 4808 you will be more than happy with how that thing performs. :)

Looks like you have some great speaker options too. Have fun auditioning.

Base your decision on the receiver based on what speakers you get. If you go for Klipsch you will not need something as powerful because of their great efficiency. Can you get all Martin Logans including the ESL series with your discount or only the ones that MHT sells? I would definitely look into those if you can get them. But then again a pair of Mythos ST's would be sweet as well.

Receiver and speaker options

The upcomming yamaha 3800 is a great option and should have plenty of power and video features. When you use an HD source like BluRay or HD-DVD you wont be using any of the receiver's video features anyway, aside from HDMI switching.

The Klipsch in perticular don't require tons of power with their horn loaded tweeters. Get the Yamaha and spend the extra $1k on room treatments for a much better end result.

I have a set of Atlantic Technology System 250s ... a bit older but sound really good. 8 ohms each .... I mostly watch DirecTV and DVDs.

Which might suit an upgrade from a DSP A1 better ... Yamaha 3800 or Denon3808ci?

Planning on getting a Samsung 4665F

Thanx!
