Building my new system - needs some inputs!

I'm building a new system now that I'm finally in a house and can afford to put in large speakers :).

I was looking in some pretty expensive audiophile amps but through luck i found this forum and was introduced to the pro-amps. What a revelation! I didn't realize they can be for home use!

Currently my plan is as follows

Speaker
B&W 802D

Preamp + DAC + video processor
Yamaha RX-Z7

Power Amp
Yamaha P7000S - Do I need to go to P7000S? Would P3500S suffice?
is it detrimental to move to P7000S?

DSP
Behringer DCX2496 - I do not plan on getting a Sub, hoping that 802D has enough range to satisfy for the lower spectrums, if this is the case, do I still have a need for EQ?

I'm open to any suggestions regarding alternatives to the ones I listed.

Thanks!

I think you do need to plan on a sub:)

Are you setting up a 2/5/7 channel setup? HT? For HT you'll definitely want a couple of subs.:D:p For music only you should be able to go subless, unless you're heavy into deep organ stuff.:D The 3500 will definitely be sufficient.

Oh yeah, welcome to the site.:)

The DCX will help integrate the sub with the mains properly and will also allow you to compensate for room effects. It's not necessary, but it is a much more capable EQ/crossover than what's in the Z7. You do need to be able to measure your in-room FR and program the DCX manually though.
