RCW,
Nice short list of speakers and equipment. Try to listen to the B&W, Axiom, AV123 Rockets or other options before you buy. Check the manufacuter forums for owners near buy and audition the B&Ws at a local dealer.

Aperion and AV123 (bookshelf only) have a risk free trial on some of the speakers so that you can audition them in your home.

The emotiva seperates will look and sound great and the powerful amp will last for many years to come. I own an Emotiva amp and recommend them. However, effiecint 8 ohm speakers like the Axioms might sound just as good with a $4-500 receiver driving them.

Will do w/ more auditioning. Listened to the B&W 684 and they were very natural sounding. Will try the rockets as well. Received the XPA 5 today and
is it gorgeous. Really glad I went w/ this company. Thanks for the info.

I heard the rockets yesterday and was not knocked out by the sound. I love b&w though. I have heard the axioms all of them and they are amazing for the money. I listened to rock , reggae, classical, heavy metal, and live recordings and the axioms handled all of these genre's of music with ease. I think for the money you can't go wrong with the axioms. I am buying a pair in a few weeks as I am sick of listening to my friends speakers.

Sorry wrong phrasing, I am sick of hearing my friends brag how great EVERYTHING sounds on their speakers compared to my B&WS.....
