Building a custom box, need help

New to the forums here, so let me give a quick introduction. I own a 2003 350z and would love to build myself a custom box for it. :)

I want to fit it under the bar of the trunk

I don't have the exact dimensions yet, but I will have them tomorrow afternoon. But what I want to do is build the box with a glass showing the subs so I can put some neon lights in there. (Mainly to light up my car, planning on putting lights in front of the seats as well). I'm pretty sure this is possible, but will that effect the space I will need at all? For example would I need a wider box for the space or does it not matter? I'm going to want to put 2 12's in the box by the way.

Mainly what I'm asking is, what are the best subs to use, what kind of material do I build the box out of because of the glass, what amp should I buy, what speakers should I replace the stock with (they sound horrible) and any general tips that anyone thinks can help :)

I'm not new at sound systems in a car, I just never built a box before

For a car box I recommend plywood with a carpet finish. With the proper driver a Single 12 will do the job. Why not get a TC Sounds 12" Epic that could certainly destroy your car? Get a good amp and you will be set.

As far as the amp (or speakers for that matter) you can't go wrong with the Rockford Fosgates.

I am also partial to the Audiobahns, I love that chrome motif
