Been researching for days and days.. I'm getting conflicting info on how to, or if it's even possible, to do what I want.
My goal is to have amazing Dolby Atmos (7.2.4) audio for movies and face melting 2.2 channel power for music.
Is that doable?
Looking to spend under $8,000 for AVR, speakers and potentially amps.

Amazing and face melting might cost more than that. :) So with all that research you didn't even come up with a list of potential candidates?

With that blanket of a request you could end up with 100+ different configurations. Did any of your research involve speaker demos?

You might want to reach out to Gene who runs this site and schedule a consultation, with your budget, his expense is nominal.

Probably shouldn’t blow it all on one system if he’s a beginner, maybe start out with middle priced gear ⚙?? Needs a proper room for atmos , I don’t even have atmos yet .
Regular 5.1 or 7.1 is good for some rooms too . Op just read a bunch of speaker threads or something.
Emotiva is a good start ...check crutchefeild
