Audioholic newbie. So, I got a 47" LCD TV about a year ago and have done nothing, until recently, to upgrade the HT. I have an old 5.1 Kenwood receiver with power amp and some JL-1105 speakers and two 40W surrounds. My wife inadvertently gave away the center. So, I purchased a Yamaha RX-V663 (95W RMS x 7.2) receiver, which I'm using with those JL-1105 (4 way speakers, non-powered sub) and the two surround speakers (which are 40W). I've got very little money so I wanted to start a budget system to last for a while. I'd like to keep it under $1K for the speakers.
First I was intrigued with the Acoustech line, HT-75 tower system with H-100 sub and the HT-65 center and HT-63 surrounds. I was under the impression that all of the towers are sold out, but AcousticSoundDesign still has the set whole theater still avail. for purchase. I haven't called to verify. I also liked the look of the tSc's TST2 set up. I called and the TST2 is unavailable until April. So, I'm thinking of getting the TST3's and the center and surrounds and T250 sub.
Bottom line: which is the better deal? TST3 or HT-75? I know the HT-75 is only a 2-way speaker and that's kind of...meh.
