I was going to sell these speakers but It was suggested I keep them for entertainment. i have another setup that is the prime entertainment. I don't want a high priced Receiver. Just one that will sound good with these.

I looked at the frys ad and they have a bunch of deals sub 300. That sounds good to me as long as they perform decent. With Black Friday coming up what do you suggest.

Thanks.

Well, since 98 - 99% of the sound quality is determined by the source software, the speakers, and their interaction within the room, I'll go with my safety call.

Your best bet is to go for the receiver/amp with the most clean power that's stable at a low imedance. I don't know how low that "nominal 8 ohm" impedance drops but, trust me, it does.

The room is pretty big. Around 30ft by 10 with a vaulted ceiling.

I finished my 5.1 setup in the other room (EMP E55ti's). That will be the theater room. These will be for entertaining guests or TV, but now that im browsing receivers im wondering if I should use my Pioneer Elite VSX-21 I got a few years back and get something else? I think I bought my Pioneer Elite in Dec 09 or 2010. Has the technology changed alot since then?

What do you think?

It looks like it is fairly current on most everything, so I'd say probably not a solid candidate for replacement yet, but it isn't a bad idea.
