Budget Receiver Decision

Ahoy! I've been receiver shopping for awhile and have been having a hell of a time making up my mind. I've basically got it down to these options:

Pioneer VSX-815K
Pioneer VSX-1015TX
Yamaha RX-V657

Now, I know that the 1015 is a feature laden machine. However, I can get the Yammie for about $450 out the door. I'm sorta leaning towards the Yamaha because of the quality pre-outs and the fact that my dealer is super cool and I want to support him. I know the 3 component inputs on the Pioneer would be cool, as would the THX stuff, but when sound quality is concerned, who would win out?

I just recently got the RX-V1500, and a fair amount of the features found in that are in the 657 so I'd have to say it looks like a quality box... but at that price point it would be hard topass up on the 1015 (although as far as the THX goes I find myself listening to the CinemaDSP fields more often than the THX ones on the 1500 for what it's worth)...

All i can tell you is that the Pioneer 1015tx is a beast and my sound has never been better, though comparing this to a lower priced sony receiver. Also my Dad has a yamaha 5730, maybe, and it sounds a lot better than that yammy too. the 1015tx can be found for $450 if you look around, I even had best buy drop the price to 450 to match the online retailers. IMHO there isnt a receiver that can tought the Pioneer 1015tx with out spending at least $700 and thats a deal on the Yammy 1500, but I wouldnt doubt if it would still beat it out.

I should've also mentioned that my dealer will extend the parts warranty to 10 years on the Yammie if I buy it. Ignoring features though, between the 1015 and the 657, which would have better sound quality and pre-outs?

Also, should I be looking at H/K in this price range?

Can't mention the pre-outs on the 1015tx but the sound quality is great. Just a question though, how is he extending your warranty to 10 years if you get the Yammy, what if that model wont even work with technology 5 years from now, what if the store isnt around there anymore or if he sells it, just some things to think about before making ur decision based on that, if you dont have any question if they will be around longer enough to honor that claim, then that would be my decision point right there.

I'll have to do some more thinking. Rearding my dealer though, the place has been around for a long time. They're the oldest B&W dealer in the state. Besides that, the way they operate is really low pressure. I think they try to make long-term customers. Just from the way I've been treated so far, I think I might want to go for the Yammie. The Pioneer is still so sexy though...

I'm def. glad I bought the 1015tx, its a monster, can't wait to get a better speaker setup to go with it, I still think in its price range there isnt anything that can touch it.
